Frequently Asked Questions:
Here are a list of questions and answers in regards to membership at Huyton and Prescot Golf Club.
“Do I have to have a registered handicap to join?”
No. If you do currently hold an up to date handicap certificate we would ask you to send a copy along with your application. Applicants without a handicap will be required to see a council member for assessment of their playing ability this may involve playing a number of golf holes with the council member.
“What if I don’t know a Member to Propose or Second my application?”
If you know a current H&P Member who is happy to support your application, please get him/her to endorse the form accordingly. If you do not know a H&P member or belong to another golf club at present, please don’t worry as each application is reviewed on its own merit.
“How long will I have to wait to be invited for an interview?”
This varies depending on the number waiting to join the club. We do try to see prospective members in the month following their application but processing may be done much quicker if we have a lesser number applying.
“When can I join?”
Successful applicants will be invited to join from the 1st day of the month following their interview, or at a later date to suit their own situation. Pro rata payments are to be paid for new members joining through the course of the calendar year.
